About Me
I completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology in the UK and have worked within the field of child, young adult and family mental health ever since.
I am dedicated to providing a supportive, inclusive and personalised approach to therapy. Working integratively, I draw from a range of evidence-based psychological approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We will work together to select an approach that best aligns with your hopes and values. Sometimes, a combination of approaches might be helpful.
I offer support to those experiencing a range of challenges including anxiety, low mood, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), difficulties with regulating emotions and low self-esteem. I also support families where there are concerns around child or adolescent behaviour or struggles with parenting. Perhaps an event, or series of events, has resulted in feeling distant or disconnected and you would like support to strengthen relationships. The length of our work together will vary greatly depending on a number of factors - this is something we will discuss together and continue to review on a regular basis. Sometimes just a few sessions might feel sufficient, for others, longer term support might feel more appropriate.
In addition to individual and family support, I feel passionately about supporting systems to develop and implement effective mental health and wellbeing strategies. I have extensive experience designing and implementing mental health and wellbeing support within schools and colleges. This includes support for students, their parents and carers and training and development for educational staff. This work is relevant for all organisations - it may be that you would like to support your employees with aspects related to mental health, wellbeing or parenting - please do get in touch to discuss your ideas and we can think together about what might work for you and your organisation.
